French forces enter American base, Eastern Aleppo, and internally displaced persons from Douma arrive in al-Bab

Local and field news:

The second group of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) from Douma, Eastern Ghouta, arrived in al-Bab, 38 kilometers east of Aleppo, Northern Syria.

The group comprised of 1200 IDPs and included some injured. These are to be transferred to shelters in Shibran, Northern al-Bab. humanitarian organizations will provide them with medical and food services.

French forces entered an American military base, Northwestern Manbij (80 kilometers east of Aleppo). The forces entery to the base coincided with new information about France's intention to establish a military base in the area.

Syrian government artillery bombing injured two children in the town of al-Zarba (20 kilometers south of Aleppo).

The Local Council of al-Atareb, Western Aleppo, Northern Syria, organized an entertaining event for the displaced children of Eastern Ghouta. The event was in cooperation with the Obaida association and the New Day Syria organization.

In Idlib, suspected government warplanes killed and injured 21 civilians, including a woman and two children, in Ariha and the town of al-Bara, Southern Idlib, Northern Syria.

Local activists reported that the warplanes targeted the residential neighborhoods of Ariha. The bombing killed a woman and a child, and injured 15 others with various injuries. The Civil Defense teams transferred the injured to nearby medical centers.

Civil and Military bodies in Idlib, Northern Syria, proclaimed supporting the assembly of the Public Initiatives Union, which aims to stop the hostilities between the Hayat Tahrir al-Sham and the Syrian Liberation Front.

The local, military and Shura councils of Kafroma and Jarjanaz issued a statement urging the administration of the Negotiation Union to reveal the identity of the party refusing to stop the hostilities.

In Central Syria, factions in Hama and Homs officially proclaimed establishing the Unified Command of the Central Region. The command includes most of the Free Syrian Army (FSA) factions and Islamic battalions.

The recorded statement reported that the Unified Command is the only military representative in Homs and Southern Hama. The battalion aims to “achieve the revolution's goals and tackle all challenges in the area.”

The Hayat Tahrir Al Sham announced through their media that they killed and injured loyalist fighters, during a counter-attack on Syrian government bases in the Eastern suburbs of Hama. The attack took place yesterday, after Syrian government forces attempted to advance in Hayat Tahrir al-Sham controlled areas.

Abd al-Rahim Saad al-Deen, the Tahrir al-Sham media official in the southern suburbs of Hama, reported in a statement that the Elite fighters, affiliated with the Tahrir al-Sham, attacked Syrian government bases near the town of Taqsis. The attack killed all the fighters in the bases, without causing any injury to Tahrir al-Sham fighters.

In Eastern Syria, the Kurdish al-Asayish forces suspended the civilian movement in the Zamalka crossing between Iraqi Kurdistan and al-Hasakah. The al-Asayesh temporarily suspended the crossing, after several mortars fell nearby and injured two fighters.

Eye-witnesses said that five mortars were launched from Turkey and fell near two of the crossing's entrances, from Qamishli and Malkiya.  

International and political news:

Turkey, Russia and Iran considered that the Astana talks currently underway between the three countries looks to be “the only successful method of negotiation to solve the Syrian crisis.” The statement came during a summit between the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin and the Iranian Hassan Rouhani in Ankara.

The Washington Post quoted an official of the U.S. administration saying that the U.S. President Donald Trump demanded a plan of action to withdraw from Syria, without setting a specific timeline for this.

The official also said that Trump does not want to extend the American forces mission in Syria after combatting the Islamic State; and that other countries (especially the Arab countries) should be responsible for rebuilding Syria, in addition to sending their troops over.

Jan Egeland, spokesman for the UN council for Humanitarian Affairs, said that between 80,000 and 150,000 civilians in Douma (14 kilometers east of Damascus), are on the verge of breakdown due to an increase in basic needs after years of fighting and besiege of the area.
