Field and local developments:

On Thursday, exit operations for wounded civilians from the city of Douma (14 km east of the Syrian capital Damascus) to Northern Syria, were stopped.

Local activists reported to SMART that the fourth group was preparing to leave when loyalist forces pushed the convoys back. Communications with the Civil Committee for the city of Douma have begun to deem the reasons for this sudden manouevre.

A source in the Kurdish Red Crescent added that a device was planted near an Andalusian bakery in the city. The source further pointed out that the perpetrator is still unknown.

A military source from the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) said that French soldiers visited camps in Western al-Raqqa, Northeast Syria, to participate in the training operations.

The source who asked not to be identified, said that the French trainers entered the camp in the village of al-Mahmudli in Western al-Raqqa, accompanied by soldiers from the United States. The source added that they will participate in the training of SDF members in several camps.

Turkish newspaper, Yeni Shafak reported that Turkey is preparing to open a crossing between the Afrin area, Northern Aleppo, and the state of Hatay.

It was added that the crossing will be named Olive Branch, after the name of the military operation launched by Turkey in cooperation with factions of the Free Syrian Army (FSA) in the area of Afrin. It aims to facilitate the deliverance of humanitarian aid to the region.

Around 200 people demonstrated in front of a Turkish observation post near the village of al-Sarman Southeast Idlib, demanding Turkey to accelerate its forces’ enter the rest of the bases in the province, in order to protect them from the loyalist forces and its allies.

Local activists told SMART that the demonstrators demanded the Turkish Army enter Idlib, establish a base there, push the loyalist forces out of the villages and towns east of the governorate, and activate the role of civil institutions.

The local council in Kafr Sejna village (45 km south of Idlib city) launched a project to rehabilitate 50 houses to shelter the displaced persons from Eastern Ghouta.

On Thursday, Turkey said that its goals for the eased escalation agreement is not to repeat any of the events of Eastern Ghouta in the Syrian capital Damascus, in Idlib in Northern Syria, or in the north of central Homs.

The spokesman Ibrahim Kalin said at a press conference: "We are committed to the task we have in Idlib in the Astana talks and will continue to be so. Our main aim is to not repeat the incidents that took place in Eastern Ghouta, in Northern Homs or Idlib, in any way."

Kalin added that Turkey will continue the Olive Branch Operation in the Tall Rifat area north of Aleppo in Northern Syria, to eliminate the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG).

The Syrian Human Rights Network documented the killing of five journalists and the wounding of three others by Syrian government forces and military factions in Syria last March.

The network reported that the loyalist forces and its loyal militias are responsible for the killing of four journalists (one of them from Jaysh al-Islam), as a result of bombing the cities and towns of Eastern Ghouta in the Syrian capital, Damascus.

A media reporter from the National Defense militia was killed by opposition military factions during clashes in the village of Muhammadiyah in Eastern Ghouta. The report has not provided further identification.
