World expects Donald Trump’s response in Syria, and internally displaced persons from Douma arrive in Northern Aleppo

Political and International Updates:

The world is waiting for the U.S. President Donald Trump's decision on Syria, amidst statements and intensified meetings of the U.S. government to discuss the potentiality of a military response against the Syrian government following the chemical massacre, which government forces committed in the city of Douma in Eastern Ghouta.   

The U.S. White House reported that Trump would not attend a summit in Latin America and preferred to stay in the United States to decide against the Syrian regime On Monday, Trump stated that he would decide within 24 to 48 hours.   

The spokesperson of the French government stated that Paris would intervene in case of exceeding "red lines" in Syria has been proven. The French President Emmanuel Macron contacted his U.S counterpart Donald Trump to discuss what the two presidents called the potential "decisive response" against the Syrian government.

In her response to a question about the possibility of participating in the expected military strike of the regime in Syria,the British Prime Minister, Theresa May, stated that she would contact Trump and Macron about the chemical attack in Douma, pointing out that "those who are responsible for the chemical attack must be held accountable." 

The Russian Foreign Ministry said that Moscow hopes for the situation in Syria would not to upgrade to a military confrontation with the United States.

The expectations come as the United Nations Security Council states members prepare a new draft resolution about Syria following the recent chemical attack. Russia said that Moscow would propose another draft resolution, which includes sending expert investigators to the city of Douma.

The Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said his country would return the area of Afrin (42 km northwest of Aleppo) north of Syria, to its people " promptly."

Local and Field Updates:

3,548 internally displaced persons (IDPs) from the city of Douma arrived at Abu al-Zindin crossing near the city of al-Bab, east of Aleppo in Northern Syria.The IDPs are the first group, which arrived following an agreement between Jaysh al-Islam and Russia to evacuate the city of Douma. The two sides reached an agreement following the chemical massacre in the city.

In turn, the regime's media announced the receipt of all the "abductees" of the prisons of the Jaysh al-Islam in Douma.

In Idlib, suspected Russian warplanes bombed the village of al-Naqir, south of Idlib in Northern Syria, killing two civilians and injuring another. The death toll of the explosion, which hit the city of Idlib on Monday, increased to 27 civilians.
