Recent field and local developments:

The Syrian government continues to put pressure on the people and factions to complete the displacement operation in eastern Qalamoun area, Rif Dimashq. The Syrian government forces tried to storm al-Rahiba city using heavy shelling of explosive barrel, artillery shells and air raids, killing six civilians.

A person accused of belonging to the loyalist forces assassinated the head of the Negotiations Committee, Shahir Juma, by shooting him in the city of al Dmyar. This came during battles against the Free Syrian Army (FSA) and Islamist battalions in the area adjacent to Homs, resulting in losses in the ranks of the Syrian government.

The Martyr Ahmed Abdo forces revealed to SMART that the Russian negotiator had told the Negotiations Committee for eastern Qalamoun that "there is no alternative to exit" and that in the event of resistance, "the mountain and cities will be exterminated."

In the latest developments of the meeting with Russia on the fate of northern Homs and southern Hama, the Negotiations Committee announced to reach a temporary ceasefire until the next meeting next Sunday.

The representatives of Rastan withdrew from the last session, in protest against airstrikes on the city during the meeting. One of the attendees told SMART that the Russian negotiator had proposed a "settlement and reconciliation," which was rejected by the committee.

The FSA is clashing against the Khalid ibn al-Walid Army, accused of allegiance to the Islamic State (ISIS), that had been controlling the village of Sheikh Saad and Masaken village of Glenn, before the FSA regained control of Masaken amid ongoing clashes in Sheikh Saad .

ISIS regained control of the village of al-Hasrat, which was seized by the Syrian government and its militia in December last year after ISIS infiltrated to the village and the Syrian government members withdrew.

ISIS and the Syrian Democratic Forces exchange prisoners in Deir Ez-Zor, where ten prisoners were released from each side.

International and political developments:

A United Nations security team came under fire while entering the city of Douma. Therefore, the arrival of the chemical weapons inspectors team to the city has been delayed. Their appearance was scheduled for Wednesday to inspect the site of the Syrian government’s chemical attack a few days ago.

The Belgian authorities are investigating the export of chemicals to the Syrian government illegally by three Belgian companies between 2014 and 2016, according to Associated Press agency.

The UN envoy's office in Syria, Stephane de Mistura, reported that the envoy met with senior Turkish officials in Ankara before heading to Moscow and Tehran for consultations with officials there.
