Government escalates hostilities in Northern Homs, decides on agreement with southern opposition factions, and attacks SDF bases in Deir ez-Zor

In Central Syria, Russian and Syrian government warplanes launched airstrikes on the northern countryside of Homs. The airstrikes killed at least three civilians, injured seven others and forced the field hospital of the town of al-Zafarana to shut down.

Four bodies and six injured SDF fighters arrived at the hospital of al-Tabaqa in the city of Raqqa, Northeastern Syria. The fighters were killed and injured by the clashes with the loyalist forces in Deir ez-Zor.

Russian airstrikes killed four women and injured others in an IS dwelling for the widows and divorced wives of IS fighters in eastern Deir ez-Zor.

In Northern Syria, the opposition group Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) arrested two reporters in the town of Darkoush (35 kilometers west of Idlib).

Local activists reported that on Saturday, the HTS arrested the Syria 24 reporter Ahmed al-Akhras and the photographer Rami Raslan from Kafr Nubl. The reporters were taking photos in the town without “permission”.

The local council of al-Dana, 35 kilometers north of Idlib, Northern Syria, imposed a night curfew, due to the lack of security and assassinations that have been taking place in Idlib.

In Aleppo, unidentified gunmen shot a civilian near the village of Urum al-Kubra (18 kilometers west of Aleppo).

The local council of Azaz (44 kilometers north of Aleppo), published a statement calling for the removal of the military bases and checkpoints in the city, and the prohibition of face covers and weapons within the city.

On Saturday night, the Russian Foreign Minister, Sergei Lavrov, said to his French counterpart, Jean-Yves Le Drian, that Russia is open to dialogue to reach what he described as a “fair and acceptable solution” for the Syrian crisis.
