Airstrikes kill and injure civilians in Idlib, and displacement of Syrians from Central Syria continues

Airstrikes kill and injure civilians in Idlib, and displacement of Syrians continues in Central Syria.

Local and Field Updates:

On Tuesday, airstrikes killed two girls and injured a woman and a child in the city of Ariha, and the village of Urem al-Jouz, south of Idlib Northern Syria.

On Tuesday, the Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) arrested six internally displaced youths from Southern Damascus in the village of Qah, north of Idlib, Northern Syria.

On the same day, two separate explosions killed two people, including a HTS fighter, and injured another in the Idlib governorate.

The administration of Bab al-Salama border crossing with Turkey decided to take down the flag of the Syrian Revolution for three days in protest of the Israeli Army's massacre of Palestinian demonstrators near the besieged Gaza strip.

On Tuesday, the Syrian government forces, stationed at the checkpoint of Talbise city, north of Homs, finished checking the convoys of internally displaced persons (IDPs) from Central Syria. The IDPs are supposed to be heading to the town of Qalat al-Madiq in Hama on the eighth day of displacement operations in the area.

The Syrian government forces pressured residents of the villages and towns south of Hama in Central Syria for entry instead of Russian troops, and contrarily to the displacement agreement.

IDPs at the al-Rakban camp, 300 kilometers southeast of Homs, on the Syrian-Jordanian borders, suffers from a months-long lack of humanitarian aid, and from the high prices of purchasing important items as Ramadan approaches.

The local council of the city of Nawa, 30 kilometers, north of Daraa, Southern Syria, opened a school which was rehabilitated by the council at the cost of 70,000 USD.

On Tuesday, Fawaz al-Akhras, the head of the local council of the city, stated that Syrian government bombings destroyed the school “Nawa 15” four years ago, but now it is running again and has 300 students currently enrolled.

The Awqaf (endowment) administration in areas outside of Syrian government forces control in Daraa governorate, south Syria, said that Thursday will be the first day of Ramadan.   

A gang released two civilian hostages for a ransom of 19 million Syrian pounds after kidnapping them in As-Sweida governorate Southern Syria.

An internally displaced woman died due to the lack of medical care at a camp that is supervised by the Kurdish Autonomous Administration.

Lack of medicine and poor health care causes infectious diseases to spread among IDPs  at the camp of the village of Qana (al-Sad); in areas controlled by the Kurdish Autonomous Administration, south of al-Hasakah, Northeastern Syria.

Political and International Updates:

On Tuesday, the states sponsoring the Astana 9 Talks stressed their support of a diplomatic settlement in Syria through the implementation of recommendations at the Syrian National Dialogue Conference, held in the Russian city of Sochi.
