Car explosion kills and injures dozens in Idlib, and Syrian government forces deliver names of constitutional committee members to Russia and Iran

On Saturday, a trapped car explosion in the city of Idlib, Northern Syria, killed and injured 55 civilians, most of them children.

An official documenting at the Clinics Hospital of Idlib said that a booby-trapped car exploded in a residential compound in the Thalathin Street, Central Idlib. The explosion killed two women, two children and injured 51 civilians, most of them children. Most of the injured were transported to the Clinics Hospital and the governorate hospital, and the injured who received severe injuries were transported to Turkey.

Aziz al-Ahmad, an artist, painted a mural in the city of Binnish, 8 kilometers north of Idlib, Northern Syria, in solidarity with the victims of the Civil Defense, who were killed in an armed attack in the village of Tal Hadiah, Aleppo.

The Civil Defense teams dismantled a 10 kilogram explosive device that was planted anonymously in al-Atarib city, 30 kilometers west of Idlib, Northern Syria.  

The administration of the Bab al-Salamah crossing in the city of Azaz, 43 kilometers north of Aleppo, Northern Syria, reported that in nine days 8,499 Syrian refugees returned from Turkey to Syria to celebrate the al-Fitr holidays.  

Qasim al-Qasim, the crossing manager, stated that refugees will continue to enter Syria until 13th of June, adding that daily, 3,000 refugees are expected to enter Syria. Refugees returning to Syria in 27 days will reach about 75,000.

A landmine explosion in the al-Hola area, 28 kilometers north of Homs, Central Syria, killed a child and injured another.

A local activist, who preffered not to mention his name, reported that a landmine explosion killed his two children in the village of Talzahab (29 kilometers north of Homs), killing one of them and injuring the other severely. The injured child was transported to a hospital in the city of Homs. No further information about who might have planted the landmine was reported.   

Unknown persons burned the Syrian government flag in the city of Kafrlaha, 27 kilometers north of Homs, Central Syria.

A local source, who preferred to remain unnamed for security reasons, said that anonymous people burned the Syrian government flag in the Mokhtar square and another in the town hall. The source assumed that the loyalist forces are responsible for this incident in order to justify the entry of the Shabiha militia into the area. While other activists assumed that Syrian Revolution supporters are responsible for the incident.  

On Friday, the Asayish forces of the Kurdish Autonomous Administration prevented cars and other vehicles from crossing the Euphrates River via river ferries near the al-Raqqa old bridge.

A source from the Asayish forces reported that they prevented vehicles from crossing the river using ferries to cross the river, from 8:00 am to 12,00 pm.   

Iceblock prices increased in the city of al-Raqqah, Northeastern Syria, reaching 600 Syrian Pounds during the month of Ramadan.

International and political news:

On Saturday, the Syrian government announced delivering the names of the constitutional members to Russia and Iran.

Loyalist media channels reported from a source at the foreign affairs ministry that the ministry delivered the names list to the Russian and Iranian ambassadors in Damascus. No further information about the members was reported.
