Tahrir al-Sham initiates process of enrollment; OPCW says that Syrian government did not reveal all its chemical weapons

Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham ( HTS) initiated the process of enrollment, to graduate new fighters in Idlib and Hama, Northern and Central Syria. Hayat Tahrir al-Sham also adopted a resolution of a curfew between midnight and 4:00 am.

HTS arrested 30 people in Salqin, Idlib, who recently left al-Hajar al-Aswad, Southern Damascus, for belonging to the Islamic State. They include ten women, mostly from Russia and Algeria, according to activists.

The National Liberation Front, newly founded in Northern Syria, established an organizational and an administrative structure. The front elected a General Commander, a deputy, and a chief of staff. The front assured that it would discuss to find a drastic solution to administer the area.

In southern Syria, civil society activists retrieved five bodies from the al-Nabulsi family. Ten other bodies remained under the rubble. The building was destroyed during the latest Syrian government military campaign on the camp.

In Daraa, Free Students Assembly of the South condemned the Suyuf al-Haq brigade for breaking into the campus of al Bashaer Faculty, Nawa. The military council of the city assured the student that they would not repeat the incidence.  

The Syrian government threatened people to cut off electricity. It demanded six million Syrian pounds as a first payment of the city of Da’el assets from previous years and 18 million Syrian pounds from the town of Tafas.

The effective conscription campaign continues in Eastern Syria. The military police, affiliated with the Kurdish Autonomous Administration, arrested 30 men from al-Raqqa, taking them to the recruitment camps.

Anonymous persons killed a Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) fighter after they targeted his vehicle with an RPG in Northern Raqqa, Northeastern Syria.

In the al-Furat Shield-controlled areas, security tension arose in Azaz, after fighters of the Free Syrian Army (FSA) kidnapped police and general security officers.

The al-Smatyiah tribe of the Hama governorate, Central Syria, is to form a military council for protection and to manage its affairs.

International and political news:

The head of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), Ahmed Ozumjo, revealed that samples collected by the OPCW experts from areas hit by chemical attacks in Syria proved the presence of chemicals that have not been previously declared by the Syrian government.

Mikhail Bogdanov, the Russian Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, reported that Russia, the United States, and Jordan agreed to hold a meeting to discuss the future of de-escalation zone in Southern Syria.

Robert Wood, the U.S. Ambassador for Disarmament Affairs, said that the U.S. is willing to withdraw from Disarmament conference in Geneva, as an objection to the Syrian Government leading the meeting.

In Italy, Roma received 75 refugees from Lebanon, mostly Syrians, under the Humanitarian Corridors agreement between the Italian Government and religious organizations.
