Syrian Democratic Forces launches military campaign against Islamic State in al-Hasakah; United States and Turkey reach agreement about Manbij city, Aleppo

Local and Field Updates:

The Syrian Democratic Forces(SDF) launched a military campaign against the Islamic State(ISIS) to control the town of al-Dashisha, 78 kilometers south of al-Hasakah in Northeastern Syria. The SDF launched the campaign in coordination with Iraqi Army.

On Monday, sources reported that commanders of the U.S backed SDF met Russian officers in the Eastern Deir Ez-Zor countryside.

ISIS seized control over Syrian government forces in the perimeter of the city of al-Bukamal, 120 kilometers southeast of Deir Ez-Zor in Eastern Syria following clashes, killing members of the Syrian government forces.

On Monday, an explosion hit an area near a military base of the International Coalition in the city of Ain Issa, 50 kilometers north of al-Raqqa in Northeastern Syria. The blast came hours after a similar explosion that killed SDF fighters.  

The Asayish security forces of the Kurdish Autonomous Administration arrested three youths in an internet cafe in the city of al-Raqqa, Northeastern Syria. The youths arrest followed protests against the Kurdish Autonomous Administration. The protesters called upon the SDF to leave the city of al-Raqqa.  

Clashes erupted between Hayat Tahrir al-Sham(HTS) and loyalist militias in the perimeters of the towns of Kafariya and al-Fou’a near Idlib in Northern Syria. The HTS killed four members of the armies.

On Monday, a source revealed that the HTS received 27, 000 USD to release a manager of a relief group. The manager exploited women sexually in return for providing aid to them.

The Aleppo Army shelled neighborhoods in the city of Aleppo controlled by the Syrian government forces in Northern Syria.

The local council and administration of the school of the town of Abian Sam’ a west of Aleppo organized a protest against Ihsan relief group for the ill-rehabilitation of the school.

Internally displaced persons in the city of Manbij, 84 kilometers northeast of Aleppo in Northern Syria complained about poor humanitarian conditions and high housing rents amidst the absence of humanitarian organizations.

The low value of Turkish Lira decreased trade movement in Aleppo, causing prices of commodities to vary.

Potatoes production decreased by the half in Western Aleppo, north of Syria due to potatoes disease.

On Monday, three children drown in the Euphrates near the city of Jarablus Northeast of Aleppo in Northern Syria.

The Syrian government forces shelled outposts in Eastern al-Quneitra, south of Syria. The shelling came in response to the Free Syrian Army bombing on the Syrian government forces outposts in the town of Khan Arnabeh, 10 kilometers north of al-Quneitra.  

The Civil Defense documented 1,890 first aid and medical treatment operations that medical clinics conducted for children, women, and men in the Daraa governorate during May 2018.

On Monday, an official of the Syrian government General Establishment of Cereals expected that the establishment would buy 6,000 tons of wheat in the Daraa governorate in 2018.

Employees of the custom of the Syrian government confiscated commodities imported from Turkey in markets of the city of Hama, Central Syria. The employees did not reveal the reasons behind the decision.

The confiscation included dozens of trade shops in the city of Hama controlled by the Syrian government forces. The employee's confiscated commodities shut down shops and arrested the shops’ owners. The employees sent the shops’ owners to prisons in Damascus and imposed significant fines against them.

The fire broke out in a harvester, burning wheat fields in the village of Shahranaz, 53 kilometers northwest of Hama, Central Syria. The fire caused a loss of 800,000 Syrian pounds.

Residents of al Salihiya and al-Talae’ neighborhoods in the city of al-Hasakah controlled by the Kurdish Autonomous Administration complained about the lack of significant services like water, bread, And health facilities.

Media outlets close to the Syrian government revealed that the Central Bank of Syria is willing to circulate a coin of 50 pounds soon.

The Central Census Department of Syria estimated populations by 24,420 million until the end of 2017, according to the formal Syrian government Tishreen newspaper.

Political and International Updates:

On Monday, Turkish Foreign Ministry stated that Ankara reached an agreement with Washington about the city of Manbij, Aleppo in Northern Syria. Manbij is controlled by the  SDF of which the Kurdish People’s Protection Units form the primary component.

On Monday, Russian Federal Security Committee in Siberia arrested 11 members of a group that recruited fighters to join terrorist organizations in Syria and Afghanistan.
