Field and local developments:

A military source from the Free Syrian Army (FSA) confirmed that the Syrian government forces sent reinforcements to Deir al-Adas town, 60 kilometers north of Daraa, Southern Syria, in preparation for launching military operations in the region.

The military source added that they had observed the arrival of a 10-vehicle Syrian government forces convoy into the research area west of Tal Bazak (13 kilometers north of Quneitra) coming from the northern village of Ayuba. The Syrian government also fully mobilized its forces in Deir al-Adas town.

On Saturday, the death toll from the Zardana village massacre, 16 kilometers north of Idlib, Northern Syria, has risen to 47 victims as a result of two raids by suspected Russian warplanes.

On Friday, the Syrian Liberation Front said that Russia could not be a guarantor for the de-escalation agreement signed at the Astana talks after it committed the Zardana village massacre, and due to its ongoing support for the Syrian government.

On Saturday, local activists reported that the Jund al-Malahem brigade of the Islamic State kidnapped eight fighters of the Free Syrian Army and the Hayat Tahrir al-Sham south of Idlib, Northern Syria.

The Syrian government forces, by Russian orders, stopped the work of two militia groups in the Hama governorate, Central Syria.

On Friday, a source close to the militias told SMART that the Syrian government forces confiscated heavy weapons and security cards from a member of the People's Assembly, Ahmed Darwish. Darwish is the commander of a militia, the Air Intelligence Branch, operating in the village of Abu Dali and its surroundings from the Idlib governorate to the Hama governorate.

This decision also included Ali al-Shali, commander of a militia belonging to the leader Suhail al-Hassan of the Syrian government forces. Al-Shali works in the town of Ain al-Krum of Sekilbiya city.

People from the city of Afrin near Aleppo, Northern Syria, expressed dissatisfaction after military factions raised banners calling on women to wear the veil.

On Friday, a civilian from Afrin Rafiq Abu Mohammed told SMART that the banners are a criticism of the social structure in Afrin. He considers such things as customs and traditions of the people, and not an expression of a religious position.

On Saturday, the National Liberation Front announced that it had defeated an attempt by the Syrian government to advance in Zammar village, 71 kilometers south of Aleppo, Northern Syria.

The National Front reported that it had defeated Syrian government forces attempts to advance in the town, and also killed and wounded a number of them after clashes at Tal Taweel.

Political and international developments:

On Friday, the Lebanese Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil issued instructions to suspend applications for residency from the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).

According to the official Lebanese national news agency, Bassil accused the UNHCR of "relying" on not encouraging Syrian refugees to return to their homeland and "intimidating" them by asking "frightening questions" about forced recruitment into the Syrian government and the security and housing situation in Syria.
