Field and Local Developments:

Activists reported 18 civilians wounded and killed, including children, on the first day of Eid al-Fitr, by Syrian government shelling in the north of Daraa, southern Syria. Activists said that the shelling killed five civilians, including two children, and a displaced man hailing from the town of Aqraba.

The Syrian government forces bombarded the city using 20 Iranian-made rocket-propelled grenades. The commander of the Free Syrian Army's "Al-Harra Martyr's Brigade" vowed to retaliate against both the Lebanese Hezbollah militias and the Iranian militia stationed in Deir al-Adas, Fatima Hills and Tal Qarayn.

At the same time, the medical staff at Al-Harra hospital complained of severe shortages of medicines and medical equipment amid a general lack of support.

Hospital director Mohammed Abu Zeid told SMART that the hospital had not received any support from humanitarian and relief organizations, or from the Health Directorate, for over a year now. He added that the hospital suffers from a great shortage of medical supplies and the inability to provide services in light of the current situation.

Abu Zeid confirmed that most of the critical cases arriving after the Syrian government bombing had to be sent to other hopsitals, and that most of the work at al-Harra hospital was limited to light injuries and first aid cases.

Clashes broke out on Friday night and Saturday between the Syrian government forces and the Islamic State (IS) in the Suweida, in parts of the Syrian desert located in the east of the province. The clashes consisted of exchanges in aerial bombardment by the Syrian governement, and artillery shelling by the IS.

Clashes erupted in Hermia (notheast Sweida), though no further details were given on the number of casualties incurred by either side. The clashes were accompanied by warplane bombings in the Qara area, in addition to artillery shelling on the areas of Khirbat al-Mubashi and al-Matamouna.

On Saturday, the HTS of north Idlib was subject to an assassination attempt carried out by unknown persons in Sarmada city in the northern countryside. The shooting occurred during the night and was carried out from a passing car on the road. It killed a communications technician. No further information was given on the parties responsible for this attack.

The "Free Storm" brigade of the Free Syrian Army (FSA) arrested five of its fighters after they indiscirimantely fired in the Izzaz town garden. The fighters were stripped of their weapons and sentenced to indefinite prison terms.

The shooting occurred on the first day of Eid al-Fitr and caused panic and fear among the children and parents celebrating in the garden.

The Kurdish People's Protection Units' (YPG) intelligence services warned that several camps near villages would be evacuated within 72 hours; namely Al-Andalus, Fiteh, Al-Rashed, Al-Sahbiyya and Al-Ajaj in the western Rifai Al-Gharbi.

The witnesses said that the YPG intelligence services told the displaced to go to camp Mahmudli, which is a newly established camp west of Raqqa city. They added that the number of displaced persons in the random camps scattered accross al-Raqqa exceed 100,000 people.
