Russia and Free Syrian Army finish first round of negotiations in Daraa; Aerial bombing on Nasib, Southern Daraa, kills civilians

On Saturday, Russia and the Free Syrian Army finished the first round of the negotiations in the city of Busra al-Sham, 40 kilometers east of Daraa, Southern Syria. The negotiations ended without any result.

General Hussam Jibawi, the spokesman of the central operations room in Southern Syria, reported that the Russian forces insisted on "humiliating" conditions. The FSA delegation refused those conditions.  

The factions of the central operations room in Southern Syria announced regaining control of location from the loyalist forces near the air defense base, Daraa city, Southern Syria. The factions also destroyed three tanks.

A suspected Syrian government aerial bombing killed four civilians and injured others, most of them women and children, in the town of Nasib, near the Jordanian border, Southern Syria

A medic at the town's hospital said that killed civilians included two women and a child from internally displaced persons (IDPs). The medic also said that the injured civilians included nine women and three children, most of them received severe injuries, expecting the victim toll to increase.    

Hundreds of IDPs from Daraa, Southern Syria, gathered near the Jordanian border in the Nasib border crossing, calling to open the border to allow IDPs to enter Jordan. 

The Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) launched a large-scale raid campaign in the town of Maasran, 30 kilometers south of Idlib, Northern Syria, and arrested a number of persons formerly affiliated with the Islamic State or who have precedents in criminal cases.

An explosive device killed one civilian and injured another in the city of Maarrat al-Nu'man, 32 kilometers south of Idlib, Northern Syria.

From their nearby bases, the Syrian government's forces targeted a car with a missile in the town of Hayan in Northern Aleppo countryside. The shelling killed a child and injured several civilians.

Activists from the town said that the Syrian government's forces, centralized in the village of Retan, targeted a civilian car with a thermal missile, killing one child and injuring civilians.

The loyalist forces' checkpoints imposed taxes on tradesmen of Northern Homs, Central Syria.   

Tradesmen and locals, who preferred to stay anonymous for security reasons, said that several checkpoints in the al-Hola area, especially the checkpoint of the village of Burj Qaei (21 kilometers northwest of Homs), imposed taxes that reached 10,000 Syrian pounds on vans that transport goods from and to the city of Rastan.

Activists in Homs Northern countryside, Central Syria, warned the people from heading for the city of Homs due to the offenses occurring at the loyalist forces' checkpoints. The loyalist forces at the checkpoints arrested young men and sent them for conscription, despite holding the settlement cards that the Syrian government gave them after the forced displacement agreement.   

Two students committed suicide in the city of Hama after announcing the results of the high school final exams.

Local sources reported that a student threw herself from the top of her house, as she did not passe the final exams after she failed in Philosophy. Another student shot herself, using her father's gun, in her house in the al-Sabouniah neighborhood.  

International and political news:

The United Nations Refugee Agency in Jordan said that the number of IDPs who fled from Daraa, Southern Syria, reached 160,000. The IDPs fled Daraa due to the Syrian government forces, attack supported by foreign militias and Russian air force.  

Muhamad Hawari, a UNHCR spokesman, said that the number of IDPs tripled, adding that the numbers are likely to increase during the night due to the ongoing battles in the area.   

The UN Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres, called for an immediate end to the military escalation in Daraa, and a return to ceasefire arrangements agreed by Russia, the United States and Jordan.
