Displacement continues in Daraa; two explosions occur in Aleppo; and Mai Skaff dies in Paris

Local and field news:

Russian military police entered the town of al-Jiza, Eastern Daraa, Southern Syria. The police registered the names of people refusing to reconcile with the Free Syrian Army (FSA), and evacuate them to Idlib, Northern Syria.

Local activists reported that most of the registered people are displaced persons from other Syrian provinces.

Syrian government officers met with military commanders in Nawa, Southern Syria, to discuss the agreement mechanisms and the city’s administration.

A source reported that a Russian officer attended the meeting and discussed all the agreement requirements, in addition to the relationship between the military factions and the Syrian government forces in Nawa and options for facing the Khalid Ibn al-Walid Army, which is accused of pledging allegiance to the IS.

In Northern Syria, a car bomb killed three civilians and injured more than 10 others near the local council of the town of Akhtarin, 40 kilometers north of Aleppo, Northern Syria.

Activists reported that a car bomb exploded in front of the local council, destroying it, and killing three civilians, including a child, and injuring ten others. The activists added that some of the severely injured people were transferred to Turkey.

Another car bomb killed eight civilians and injured others in the village of Bab Leimoun near the city of al-Rai, 33 kilometers north of Aleppo, Northern Syria.

Local activists stated that the car exploded in front of the post office building, in which the Ahfad al-Fatihin faction of the Free Syrian Army (FSA) is based.

Clashes between the Manbij Military council and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) injured three civilians and two fighters from the military council in the village of al-Sayada, Manbij, 80 kilometers east of Aleppo, Northern Syria.

An infiltration attempt by the FSA killed four Syrian government fighters and an FSA fighter in a Syrian government base near the village of Maraanaz (38 kilometers north of Aleppo).

A military source reported that six FSA fighters infiltrated a farm where Syrian government fighters were stationed between the villages of Maraanaz and al-Malkiyah, Northern Aleppo. The attempt killed four Syrian government fighters.

The Turkish Border Guard killed three civilians while attempting to cross the Syrian-Turkish border illegally from Western Idlib, Northern Syria.

In Central Syria, Syrian government artillery injured a civilian in al-Lataminah, Northern Hama, Central Syria.

A local activist reported that the civilian is a pistachio farm guard who suffered burns on his hand and a splinter in his abdomen due to the bombing. The bombing targeted a farm from the Syrian government bases in Halfaya.

In Homs, the families of the victims that were killed by the Syrian government expressed their anger after the latter buried their fighters in the Martyr Cemetery, next to their children, in al-Rastan, Northern Homs.

Local sources reported that the government buried eight bodies in the Martyrs Cemetery. The cemetery includes hundreds of civilians and FSA fighters, victims of the Syrian government bombings.

International and political news:

Mai Skaf, a Syrian actress who is known for opposing the Syrian government, died early this morning in Paris. The cause of death is unknown.

Activists on Facebook mourned Mai Skaf. Her friend, Fares al-Helo wrote, “we mourn the Syrian Actress, Mai Skaf, who died of a heart attack [..] what a painful loss.”

The Lebanese Minister of Refugee Affairs, Muin al-Marabi, stressed that the Lebanese government would discuss forming a joint committee with Russia to work with the UN to return Syrian refugees to their country.

al-Marabi said in an interview with the Middle East Newspaper that Saad al-Hariri would establish a Lebanese-Russian Committee to coordinate with the UN within the next two days.
