Traders purchase weapons in Daraa to sell them back to Syrian government;United Nations call to urgent negotiations in Idlib

Local and field updates:

Traders purchase medium and light weapons from residents and former Free Syrian Army’s (FSA) fighters in Daraa, Southern Syria. The traders sell the weapons back to the Syrian government forces and the Syrian government’s intelligence services.

The Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) arrested six members of the Islamic State (IS) in the town of al-Nayrab in Idlib, Northern Syria. The HTS seized weapons and explosive ammunition.

The HTS arrested people in the Atma camps and towns of al-Tawama, Salwa, and Harza, in the adjacent Aleppo and Idlib countrysides. The HTS accused the people of promoting reconciliation with the Syrian government, according to HTS; media outlets.

The National Liberation Front decided to prevent any military faction from entering the city of Maarrat al-Nu’man in Idlib, without coordination with the military council and security office in the city.

Hamza Beriqdar, the spokesperson for the al-Islam Army, stated that they prepare seven camps in Northern Aleppo some of them in the city of al-Bab. Beriqdar added that they prepare the camps to continue military action with the FSA factions to serve residents in the area.

The Kurdish People’s Protection Units revealed that their fighters killed a fighter of the al-Sham Legion in the Afrin area in Aleppo, using a gun with a muffler.

On Thursday, a Syrian government rocket and artillery shelling injured two civilians in the city of al-Lattamina and village of Qastoun , north of Hama, Central Syria.

The Syrian government’s forces plan to displace residents of the villages of Haman, Housh Hamad, and al-Shayah, west of as Suwayda, Southern Syria. The Syrian government’s forces claim that the residents belong to the IS

A military source reported that the Syrian Democratic Forces receives military support from the International Coalition and almost finished preparations to launch an attack against the IS in the cities of Hajin and al-Shu’fa and town of al-Sousa in Deir Ez-Zor, Eastern Syria.  

Political and international updates:

On Thursday, the United Nations (UN) called for urgent negotiations in the Idlib governorate, Northern Syria to save Idlib civilians’ blood shedding.

Jan Egeland, the UN consultant for humanitarian affairs warned against the Syrian government forces’ bombings on Idlib in the prelude to a ground attack. Egeland added,”It is bad in Idlib now and could become worse hundred times (...) we cannot allow war to extend to Idlib.”
