Syrian government forces detain internally displaced persons as they headed from Daraa for Idlib; death toll increases after Russian and Syrian government bombing on Aleppo and Idlib

On Saturday, the Syrian government forces blocked buses heading from Darra for Idlib and detained several people, accusing them of allegiance to the Islamic State.

Knowledgeable sources reported that the loyalist forces centralized on the checkpoint of the town of Jabab stopped buses that were heading from Daraa for Idlib and detained several people, accusing them of allegiance to IS. The names of four of the detained people were documented, as information mentioned that the number of detained people reached dozens.   

The Syrian government forces arrested 20 young men from the city of Dail, Daraa, Southern Syria, accusing them of belonging to the IS.

A local source from the city reported that the Syrian government's Air Force Security launched a storm-and-arrest campaign and arrested 20 young men, detaining them in the city's police station before transporting them to Daraa city for investigations.

In Central Syria, eyewitnesses reported that Syrian government military convoys passed through Homs and headed for Northern Syria.

The witnesses added that over the last days, "huge" military convoys passed on the Hama-Homs highway and headed for Northern Syria. The witnesses said that the convoy came from Southern Syria, most likely from Damascus.

In Hama, the Syrian government forces closed the road between the city of Al-Suqaylabiyah, which is controlled by the Syrian government forces, and the town of Qalat al-Madiq, which is controlled by the National Liberation Front, Western Hama, Central Syria.

A fighter, working at a Syrian Liberation Front's checkpoint on the road to Qalat al-Madiq, reported that the Syrian government's checkpoint prevented civilians from crossing.   

The death toll of the massacre committed by suspected Russian warplanes in the town of Urum al-Kubra, 20 kilometers west of Aleppo, Northern Syria, reached 22 people.

Thirty people from the town of al-Abzamo, 27 kilometers west of Aleppo, Northern Syria, protest to demand the release of detainees from the Syrian government prisons. The protestors raised banners, which demanded the release of the detainees and expressed the protesters' hope for the release, in front of the town's police station.

A car accident injured 11 children north of the city of Afrin, Northern Aleppo, Northern Syria.

The management of the Azaz National Hospital reported that most the children received minor injuries and left the hospital, as one child needed an arm amputation surgery due to his injuries.    

In Idlib, a meeting between the president of the Salvation Government, Muhammad al-Sheikh, and the head of the Salvation Government's foundational board operating in the Hayat Tahri al-Sham areas, Bassam al-Sahiouni, took place in the Salvation Government's headquarter in the city of Idlib. The two parties discussed several subject, including the resignation of al-Sheikh.   

The Free Police of the city of Maarrat al-Nu'man, 35 kilometers south of Idlib, organized a protest to condemn the Syrian government's bombing on the town and cities of the Idlib governorate.

The Free Police members raised banners that read, "Despite the de-escalation agreement, civilian are killed," "Idlib is not like any other governorate," "Prosecute the children's killer," and, "We call on humanity to stop the Syrian government forces and Russia."

The toll of killed and injured civilians increased after a suspected aerial bombing by the Syrian government on the villages and towns of the Idlib governorate. The bombing killed nine civilians and injured 40 others, including women and children and a Civil Defense volunteer.

International and political news:

On Saturday, the National Coalition for Syrian Revolutionary and Opposition Forces held Russia responsible for the attacks on the areas out of the loyalist forces' control in Northern, And Central Syria.

In a statement obtained by SMART, the Coalition condemned the bombing crimes and held Russia fully responsible for them and the "savage" attacks that targeted the Idlib, Hama and Aleppo countryside.
