Shelling by Syrian government and Russia kills and wounds civilians in Idlib and Hama; clashes between Syrian government and Asayesh kill members of both sides in al-Hasakah

Field and local developments:

On Friday, Syrian government forces shelled near the city of Khan Sheikhun, south of Idlib, Northern Syria, wounding two Civil Defense volunteers.

On Saturday, Syrian government forces shelled a village, southeast of Idlib, wounding a woman. This shelling coincided suspected Russian raids on cities of southern Idlib.

On Friday, Syrian government forces shelled the town of Qalat al-Madiq, northwest of Hama, Central Syria, killing a child and a member of the Free Syrian Army (FSA) and wounding civilians.

Also, an Islamic battalion shelled the city of Mharda, north of Hama, Central Syria, killing and wounding more than 26 people, including children.

Syrian government's pages said that artillery shelling hit the western neighborhood of the city of Mharda, killing six people, including three children, and wounding 20 others, without specifying who was behind the shelling.

On Saturday, Syrian government forces clashed with the Asayish security of the Kurdish Autonomous Administration, killing and wounding members of them in the city of al-Qamishli, 78 kilometers north of al-Hasakah, Northeastern Syria.

Sources from the Asaiysh told SMART that the clashes killed eight members of the Syrian government forces in the al-Hasakah Street in the city of al-Qamishli, and a member of the Asayish, at an early count.

Gunfire killed two civilians in the village of Ratla, 8 kilometers southeast of al- Raqqa, Northeastern Syria, during a raid by members of the Kurdish People's Protection Units on the village.

On Saturday, an explosive device wounded two members of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), northwest of the city of al-Raqqa, Northeastern Syria.

On Friday, the SDF's General Command issued a decree banning the recruitment of children under the age of 18 and imposing sanctions on violators.

In the village of al-Taybeh of Nahiyat al-Mayadeen, 45 kilometers southeast of Deir ez-Zor, Eastern Syria, people found dozens of bodies of civilians who were missed while the Syrian government forces were seizing the area.

Local activists told SMART that the people in the village of Taybeh found about 50 bodies in one of the sewage holes while cleaning a school in the al-Hama neighborhood to repair it.

Activists from the governorate of Daraa, Southern Syria, reported that the Syrian government forces have relied on local informants to arrest people opposed to the Syrian government. The Syrian government forces also found weapons and ammunition depots belonging to the FSA.

Political and international developments:

Britain's ambassador to the United Nations, Karen Pierce, warned the Syrian government of the attack on the governorate of Idlib, Northern Syria. She threatened to hold military officials of the Syrian government accountable if they launched a major attack on civilians.
