Explosions in Idlib and Aleppo injure people; IRT retrieves new bodies in al-Raqqa

In Northern Syria, an explosive device, planted in a Free Syrian Army (FSA) commander's car, injured the commander and six people, including women and children, in the city of Idlib.

The Civil Defense stated on its media channels that the device exploded the al-Qusour neighborhood, injuring three people and three children and women. The Civil Defense teams transported the injured people to Idlib's hospitals.

On Saturday, an explosive device injured a fighter of the Idlib Free Army of the FSA in southern Idlib.

Local activists reported to SMART that the fighter, who works in the military engineering base, Ali Haj Hamoud, was slightly injured and he was transported to a nearby medical center. Hamoud was attempting to disarm the device on the road between the villages of Kafr Sejnah and Hish.  

In the Aleppo governorate, two separated explosions of landmines in the Afrin area killed two fighters of the FSA al-Rahman Legion and a civilian.   

An officer of the al-Rahman Legion reported to SMART that the two fighters, who were displaced from the city of Rastan in Homs, were killed after the landmine exploded near the village of Maryamin.  

In Northeastern Syria, the Initial Response Team (IRT) of the al-Raqqa local council retrieved six bodies from under the rubble of destroyed buildings in the city of al-Raqqa.

A source from the IRT reported to SMART that they retrieved the bodies from under the rubble in the neighborhoods of al-Haramiah and Nazlet Shehadah. The remains included the body of a woman and two other bodies who were identified and delivered to their families.

On Saturday, more than 40 trucks loaded with fuel left the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF)-controlled areas in Northeastern Syria for the Syrian government-controlled areas.  

A source from the Autonomous Administration's customs reported that more than 40 trucks loaded with petroleum from the Rmeilan oilfield left the city of al-Tabqah in al-Raqqa for the Homs Refinery of the Syrian government.   

International and political news:

On Saturday, Yehia al-Aridi, the official spokesman of the High Negotiations Committee (HNC) of the Riyadh II Conference said that the United Nations special envoy to Syria, Geir O. Pedersen met with the Syrian government in Damascus to discuss several issues and most importantly the detainees' issue. 

The HNC for Syrian Revolution and Opposition Forces, founded in 2015, aims to form a negotiating delegation that represents the Syrian Revolution Forces in the Geneva talks.

The Turkish foreign affairs minister, Suleyman Soylu, said that 53,000 thousand Syrians granted the Turkish citizenship and will be able to vote in local elections.

Soylu added that the number of Syrians who acquired the Turkish citizenship reached 79,820 people, saying that 53,099 of them will be able to vote in local elections, according to the Turkish agency Anadolu.   

The United States Senator Lindsey Graham said on Saturday that the Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG) is affiliated with the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) terrorists.

In a press conference in Ankara, Graham said that it is essential to solve the YPG issue in Syria, which created by the US, adding that the US knew about the arming of the YPG and knew what it means to Turkey, according to Anadolu.
