HTS kills civilians in raids in southern Idlib; Syrian government forces’ bombings kill and injure civilians, Northern Syria

Local and field updates:

On Tuesday, the Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) killed and injured two civilians in raids in the villages of Maar Shamarin and Tall-Minis, southern Idlib, Northern Syria. The HTS raided the villages to arrest HTS fighters.

On Tuesday,  the Syrian government forces stationed in the village of Keratin shelled the village of Sha’rat al-’Ajayiz in Nahiyat Sinjar, eastern Idlib, injuring two civilians with minor injuries. The injured were transported to a nearby medical clinic.

The Syrian government forces shelled the village of Howaeir al-’ees, 26 kilometers southern Aleppo, Northern Syria, killing two children and injuring six civilians, including two children.

Dignitaries from the Homs governorate, Central Syria, and the military judiciary demanded the al-Sham Legion hands over its fighters responsible for torturing to death a fighter of the legion in the Afrin area, Aleppo.

A Russian rocket shelling killed a child and injured two others in the city of Kafr Zayta, northern Hama, Central Syria.

The Public and Political Relations Committee of the al-Rukban camp, 240 kilometers, southeast of Homs, demanded the International Community list the camp among the United Nations (UN) list of displacement camps and provide aid for the forcibly displaced people in the camp.

The Syrian government’s media outlets reported that a bomb exploded in a small (Suzuki) van in the Sahat al-Hama neighborhood in the city of Latakia, Western Syria, killing a person and injuring 14 others, including a woman and a girl. The injured were transported to the Tishrin hospital.

The International Coalition assured the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and tribal dignitaries in the Deir al-Zor governorate, Eastern Syria, of not withdrawing from the area  before eliminating the Islamic State (IS.)

 Dozens of forcibly displaced people fled the town of al-Baghouz controlled by the IS to areas controlled by the SDF in the Deir al-Zor countryside.

The Syrian government forces arrested young men in villages, western Deir al-Zor, for compulsory and reservist recruitment. The Syrian government forces also imposed fees on the forcibly displaced people returning to their villages in the al-Bukamal area.

Residents of the village of al-Shuail, 38 kilometers southeast of Deir al-Zor,  confiscated oil trucks, protesting the SDF negligence of the residents’ conditions.   

Political and international updates:

On Tuesday, the Center for Documenting Chemical Violations in Syria (CVDCS) launched a campaign to urge the International Community to account the Syrian government and its President Bashar al-Assad for using chemical weapons in Syria.

The CVDCS published a statement saying that they will post-symbolic photos of victims of chemical weapons for eight days to enhance the concepts of victims’ rights and remind the public opinion of war crimes and violations against agreements of chemical weapons prohibition committed by the Syrian government.

The Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and the UN Special Envoy to Syria Geir Pedersen stressed the need for the Syrian Constitutional Committee starts work as soon as possible.

The Russian Foreign Ministry said that Lavrov and Pedersen stressed the importance of committee starting work. Lavrov and Pedersen considered that the committee is supported by all Syrian sides, including the Syrian government and opposition, according to Russia Today channel.
