International Coalition friendly airstrikes kill SDF fighters, eastern Deir al-Zor; United States sends military reinforcements to secure US forces withdrawal from Syria

On Thursday, a friendly suspected International Coalition’ s airstrikes killed five fighters of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and injured seven others in the town of al-Baghouz, 119 kilometers, southeast of Deir al-Zor, Eastern Syria.

The Syrian government forces shelled a town and village, southern Idlib, Northern Syria, injuring seven civilians, who were transported to a nearby medical clinic.

A medical source reported that the Turkish Border Guards (Jandarma) targeted a small van on the road between the town of Darkoush and village of al-Diriya, western Idlib, killing a woman and injuring a man who was transported to a nearby hospital.

The Syrian government forces shelled the town of al-Lataminah, northern Hama, Central Syria, using 40 missiles, injuring a woman and her husband. The husband was transported to a hospital for surgery; however, the wife sustained a minor injury.

On Thursday night, the SDF arrested 22 young men in the town of al-Mansoura,28 kilometers west of al-Raqqa, Northeastern Syria.  Security tension arose in the town on the background of the funeral of a young man who was killed by the Asayish forces while attempting to arrest him.

The Health Committee of the  Autonomous Administration opened a dispensary that serves 20 villages, in the al-Houl area that lacks medical services, which forces its residents to travel for 50 kilometers for treatment in hospitals in al-Hasakah.


Political and international updates:

On Thursday, a source from the United States (US) Secretary of Defense (Pentagon) stated that the US sent military reinforcements to Syria to secure the US forces’ withdrawal.

The source added the CNN channel that the US Army are threatened by the Islamic State, Syrian government forces, and Iranian militias. The source noted that the reinforcements would move between different Syrian areas. The source stated no further details of the withdrawal.

On Thursday, the US imposed new sanctions on Iranian militias operating in Syria, as well as an airlines company affiliated with the al-Qudus Corps militia.

The US Department of the Treasury said that it sanctioned the Fatimiyoon Brigade and the Zeinabiyoon Brigade in Syria due to providing material support for the al-Qudus Corps of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards .the department added that it took procedures against the Qasham Fares Air company for the same reason, according to the US al-Hurra channel.
