Syrian government forces bombings destroy 40 of al-Tah village; SDF detains more young men in western al-Raqqa

On Friday, the local council of the village of al-Tah, south of the city of Idlib, Northern Syria, said that the Syrian government forces recent bombings destroyed 40 percent of the village. The council added that 90% of the residents were displaced from the village in the last months.    

The council also said that before the Syrian government forces campaign on the area, about 24 thousand people used to live in the village, while now, about 800 to 1,000 people only live in the nearby farmlands of the village. About 2% of the village residents are still living in the shelters of the village.  

In Aleppo, dozens of demonstrators demanded to execute the killers of police and general security members in the town of Soran, 41 kilometers north of Aleppo, Northern Syria. The members were killed during an attack on a checkpoint last December.   

On Thursday night, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) arrested 22 men in the town of al-Mansoura, 28 kilometers west of al-Raqqa, Northeastern Syria. Earlier, security tension rose after the people held the funeral of a man killed by the Asayish forces during an attempt to arrest him.

Local sources reported that the SDF launched an arrest campaign in the town against men from the families of al-Thari, al-Hantoush and al-Aboudin, on charges of participating in riots. Meanwhile, the Asayish forces are imposing a curfew for the third day in a row.

 

An explosive device targeted a military vehicle of the Deir al-Zor military council as it was passing on the al-Matab road to the city of al-Raqqa, injuring three SDF members in the city of al-Raqqa, Northeastern Syria. The wounded members were transported to the al-Basira military hospital in the countryside of Deir al-Zor.

About 300 people from the SDF-controlled area of Shaitat demonstrated in the villages of Abu Hammam, al-Qashika and al-Qahawi, demanding for better services. The demonstrators closed the main roads using burning tires, in protest against the lack of services provided by the Deir al-Zor local council.

Sources said that the demonstrators demanded the improvement of living conditions and agricultural services and to provide them with fuel for heating. They also demanded the repair of areas affected by International Coalition shelling.
