The International Coalition against the Islamic State (IS) shelled the village of al-Baguz in southeastern Deir al-Zor, Eastern Syria, killing eight women and children from one family.

The French government announced the possibility of allowing French jihadists detained in Syria to return to France. The French government-linked this to the decision of the United States to withdraw from Syria.

The French media quoted a statement by the French Foreign Ministry as saying "Because of the development of the military situation in Northeastern Syria, the US decisions, and to ensure the security of the French, we are considering all options to avoid the escape and spread of these dangerous persons." The French Foreign Ministry noted that about 150 French members of the Islamic State (IS) were detained by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).
