Daraa - SMART

The Al Dar Al ‘adl Court in Houran imposed fees on the vehicles entering  and exiting the loyalist areas of Daraa after the factions failed to meet the financial obligations of the court.

Issmat Al Abssi, the head of the court told SMART that the court started to impose the fees on the vehicles entering  and exiting the loyalist areas of Daraa. Abssi added that the court takes a half Syrian pound per kilo of each material.

Abssi said that the court started to impose the fees gradually to include all the areas from which vehicles could exit or enter the loyalist areas. Abssi pointed out that the decision was implemented on Oct.13,  2017.

Absi said that the court needed to achieve self-sufficiency after the military factions failed to defer their financial obligations to the court for more than a year, prompting them to take measures to help the court cover the costs of the judiciary and feed the prisoners.

The loyalist forces control the roads between the areas under their control and that of the Free Syrian Army, causing prices of materials, especially, fuel to fluctuate.
