Three civilians were wounded in a clash between fans of a soccer match in the town of Al-Gena, which is 31 km west of Aleppo, Northern Syria.

On Friday, the final match of the Martyrs league launched between the host team from the town of Al-Gena and the city of Atareb, amid public attendees and members of the police to maintain security.

On Saturday, a source from the Free Police told SMART that a fan of the Al-Gena fired his gun after the teams tied at the end of the match, leading to a fight between the fans of the two teams

The source explained that three civilians were wounded while trying to get off the field.

The source pointed out that the Free Police could not control the fight until the arrival of additional reinforcements. They arrested the fighters.

In the beginning of last August, the first football league, which included 24 clubs from Aleppo, Idlib and Hama, was concluded. The final match was held in the city of Idlib.

On Mar. 2, 2017, the Sport and Youth General Committee in Syria organized many events and championships in the governorates beyond regime control in cooperation with the Syrian Regional Program.
