Quneitra, SMART

The military factions of the Free Syrian Army (FSA) and Islamist battalions in Quneitra refuse any kind of reconciliation or truce with the Syrian government. FSA is a military gathering founded in July 2011 by dissident officers of the Syrian loyalist forces to protest the violence against and killing of the peaceful demonstrators.

On Sunday, the opposition factions in the Quneitra operations room said in a statement that they refuse the regional and narrow scaled reconciliation in the villages of Quneitra. The factions also refuse to open the crossings for the Syrian government towards liberated areas.

The opposition factions added in the statement that they will use absolute force to deal with whoever wishes to reconcile with the Syrian government.

All eleven opposition factions of the Quneitra operations room signed the statement. The most prominent factions are the Ahrar al-Sham movement, Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, Oussoud al-Golan Division, Quneitra Martyrs’ Brigades, Al Furqan Brigades, Al Janoub Alliance, and National Front to Liberate Syria.

Earlier, FSA sources told SMART that they are unwilling to negotiate the status of the villages Jabata al-Khashab, Al Hamidia, and Al Maalaqa with with the national reconciliation center in the Russian airbase of Hmeimim in Latakia countryside, 17 km north of Quneitra. The factions added that they wish to fight.
