IS landmines kill and injure civilians in Raqqa

Two civilians were killed and others wounded by a mine explosion remnants of the "Islamic State"(ISIS) in Raqqa controlled by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in Northeastern Syria.


On Monday, activists told SMART that a landmine hit Abdullah al-Mahmoud in the northern side of the rail in al- Mahata neighborhood, while another mine killed Hasan al-Sheikh while he was checking his house. Two young men, Abdo Zakaria and Khaled al-Kitaa, were injured in a right-foot amputation in a mine explosion in al-Quitar street. The injured were transported to the national hospital of Tal Abyad. The activists noted that the landmines exploded yesterday.  

On another level, activists documented the death of 155 civilians, including 20 women and 15 children in Raqqa due to ISIS landmines explosions since the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) have gained control of the city.

On Friday, IS landmine killed a civilian near al- Bustan park in Saif al- Dawla street in Raqqa,

Activists documented the death of 3259 civilians in Raqqa in 2017; most of them were killed in International Coalition’  bombings and SDF which supported by the latter.
