Air strike kills and wounds civilians in city and town in Idlib

On Wednesday, suspected Russian warplanes bombed a city and a town in Idlib, Northern Syria, killing two civilians and wounding seven others.

The Civil Defense wrote on its Facebook account that the warplanes, without specifying their source, bombed the city of Saraqib, 16 kilometers east of Idlib, killing two civilians and wounding five others. The Civil Defense teams transferred the wounded to medical clinics for treatment. Activists said that the warplanes are likely to be from Russian air force.

The Civil Defense added that Russian warplanes targeted the town of Hamediyah, 35 kilometers south of Idlib, with space rockets, injuring an elderly man and a child and damaging civilians’ homes.

Suspected loyalist forces’ warplanes launched four rockets on the town of Kafr Nabl, 36 kilometers south of Idlib. Loyalist forces also bombed the city of Jisr al-Shughour, 30 kilometers west of Idlib, with rockets from their bases in Jorin Camp, damaging materials, according to activists.

Battles between the loyalist forces and their allies on one hand and the factions of the Free Syrian Army and Islamist battalions on the other have been taking place in Idlib, killing and wounding dozens of civilians, destroying a number of vital civil centers, and displacing more than 300,000 civilians.
