An activist in Lebanon said that the Lebanese army found the people’s bodies in the fields of the Al Sweiri town, the illegal route in the south of the Al Masna’ town on the Syrian-Lebanese borders. The bodies were moved to hospitals in Bekaa,  Lebanon. There were five children’s bodies, one of them died in the hospital, according to the activist.

The activist pointed out that the victims were two hours walk away from the Al-Sweiri town in normal weather conditions, but they were crossing during the peak of the snowstorm.

The eastern basin of the Mediterranean Sea is affected by an air depression, which caused rainfall on the Syrian provinces and snowfall at the height of 1000 meters in the south of the country.

According to the activist, the municipality of Majdal Anjar, Lebanon, organized a protest with the participation of the head municipality, Hussein Yassine, along with the head of the Waqf Islamic Administration, Sheikh Muhammed Abd Al Rahman. They demanded not to leave the Syrians in the hands of smugglers and to facilitate their legal entry to Lebanon.
