The Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, said that his country is willing to end the Olive Branch operation against the Kurdish People’s Protection Units in Afrin, Aleppo, Northern Syria, in a very short time.

Erdogan spoke in public in Bursa, Turkey, saying “We will end the Olive Branch operation in a very short time, and I can see now how YPG and PKK fighters are escaping. They will escape, and we will keep chasing them,” according to the Anadolu news agency.

The Turkish president added, “The ground operation in Afrin will continue unceasingly.”

The Free Syrian Army factions and Turkish soldiers launched a ground military attack, under the Olive Branch operation in Rajo, Northwestern Afrin, starting from their bases in Turkey.

The FSA factions said in a statement that they, along with the Turkish army, gained control over the village of Shankal after clashing with YPG; whereas a commander in the Rebels Army denied the statement. The Rebels Army is affiliated with the Syrian Democratic Forces, in which the YPG is the main component.
