14 killed and 130 injured from Free Syrian Army and Turkish army during Afrin battle

On Monday, the Turkish Health Ministry said that 14 fighters from the Turkish army and the Free Syrian Army (FSA) were killed and 130 were injured since the beginning of the Olive Branch Operation in the Afrin area, Northern Aleppo, Northern Syria.  

During a press conference, the Turkish Health Minister, Ahmed Demirjian, said that three Turkish soldiers and 11 fighters from the FSA were killed until now during the clashes with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), which the People's Protection Units (YPG) are the main component of, in the Afrin area.   

Demirjian added that 130 soldiers and fighters were transported to Turkish hospitals, 82 among them were treated and dismissed. He pointed out that there were no significant injuries.   

Seven days ago, FSA faction and Turkish soldiers had launched a military ground attack from several fronts during an operation called the Olive Branch Operation in the Afrin area. The fighters and soldiers gained control over several villages and hills in the area, amidst continuous clashes.  

On Thursday, the Turkish government said that ending the Olive Branch Operation is "unnegotiable," as the Turkish president said that the operation will continue in Syria and will target the Manbij area, Eastern Aleppo, where there is a presence of US soldiers.
