Damascus countryside - SMART

On Saturday, the Army of Islam and al-Rahman Legion factions operating in Eastern Ghouta, Damascus Suburbs, claim that the loyalist forces and Russia violated the cease-fire agreement announced by Russia on Friday night.

On his Twitter account, the Head of the political office of the Army of Islam, Mohammad Allush, said, "Russia actually failed to apply the ceasefire it announced on Friday night in Eastern Ghouta, as the bombing of Ghouta with missiles continues."

Allush added that Russia pledged, in the United Nations offices in Geneva, to apply an open ceasefire, but failed to do so even for ten minutes. "How will Russia fulfil the commitments it plans to pledge in Sochi?" The Sochi conference is a Syrian national dialogue conference that will be held at the end of this month in the Russian city of Sochi. The High Negotiations Committee refuses to attend the conference.

The spokesman of the Free Syrian Army (FSA)'s al-Rahman Legion, Wael Alwan, said that the loyalist forces are bombing Arbin, 10 km east of Damascus, with mortar shells and ground-to-ground missiles, in a clear breach of the ceasefire agreement.

In a statement published on the Ghouta media center's channel, Alwan pointed out that the Army of Islam agreed to a cease-fire in Eastern Ghouta, and that the al-Rahman Legion suspended its approval until humanitarian aid entered Ghouta over a maximum period of 48 hours; this time limit ends today at 12 am.

On Friday, the al-Rahman Legion confirmed to SMART that the High Negotiations Committee reached a cease-fire agreement in Eastern Ghouta, entering into force at midnight Friday, during UN-sponsored talks on Syria in Geneva.

The loyalist forces bombed residential areas in Hazerma and al-Nashabya in the Marj area with artillery shells, Jisrin with explosive barrels, and Harasta and Arbin of Eastern Ghouta with ground-to-ground missiles, according to activists.

In a statement published today, the battle of Harasta operation room denied what the FSA's al-Rahman Legion agreed to a ceasefire in Eastern Ghouta, adding that no official party from inside or outside Vienna has reached out to the operation room concerning any ceasefire, and that the operation room does not respect any ceasefire agreements that it is not included in.
