More than 18 aircrafts bomb villages near Saraqib in Eastern Idlib countryside

Idlib - SMART

On Wednesday morning, 18 loyalist and Russian warplanes and helicopters launched intense raids on areas east of the city of Saraqib, 16 km southeast of Idlib, Northern Syria. They also bombed areas in the Southern countryside using napalm firebombs.

SMART observed more than 18 warplanes and helicopters over the city of Saraqib, targeting the villages of Halban and al-Zahabia and Tel Khatra and Tel Aghar east of the city.

Local activists told SMART that some of the planes that bombed the area were Russian, and the rest were loyalist. They pointed out that the warplanes bombed the villages with rockets, space bombs and explosive barrels. The activists reported no casualities.

Suspected Russian warplanes launched raids on the village of Naqir, Nahiyat Khan Sheikhoun, south of Idlib, with bombs containing burning napalm.

The Civil Defense in Idlib said that after midnight, Russian aircraft bombed the outskirts of the town of Maarshourin in the eastern countryside of Maarrat al-Nu'man with napalm. Civil Defense teams went to the place of the shelling, and worked to extinguish the fire, which caused no injuries.

Last night, airstrikes wounded more than 12 civilians in the cities of Saraqib and Khan Sheikhoun. Yesterday morning, airstrikes by loyalist warplanes killed and injured at least 25 civilians in a market in the city of Ariha.

On Monday morning, suspected Russian warplanes targeted a market in the city of Saraqib, 16 km east of Idlib, killing more than a dozen civilians while wounding others. Also, a bombing on Maasran town killed a woman and her four children. Moreover, the Doctors without borders organization condemned the bomb attack on a hospital funded by the organization, in the city of Saraqib. The bombing resulted in casualties and the hospital has shut down.

Loyalist forces, backed by Russian warplanes, have launched a military campaign on Idlib enabling them to regain control of the Abu al-Duhur military airport and dozens of villages, killing and wounding dozens of civilians, destroying a number of vital infrastructure and displacing thousands civilians, according to United Nations statistics.
