Intensified bombings by loyalist forces in areas of besieged Eastern Ghouta mean that the group al-Hayat al-Sharia in Damascus (and it’s surrounding countryside) are continuing to cancel Friday prayers in local mosques.

Following a statement posted by the group on their Facebook page, it states that cancellation of Friday prayers for the second consecutive week now has been implemented as a security measure to protect civilians against campaigns of intensified and destructive attacks by loyalist forces and related militias.

Only last month, the mosques in the towns and cities of Eastern Ghouta had to cancel Friday prayers due to intensified bombings by loyalist forces on civilian gatherings, markets, and public utilities.
