Rif Dimashq - SMART

On Monday, the loyalist forces bombarded the villages and towns of Eastern Ghouta, killing 36 civilians and injuring dozens of others.

The Civil Defense said that an airstrike on the town of Saqbah killed nine people, including a woman, four in Jisrin, in addition to injuring dozens. The continued airstrikes also killed 20 civilians in the town of Hammouriah.

On its official Facebook page, the Civil Defense documented the that an airstrike on the road connecting Kafr Batnah and Hazzah, killed one civilian. Another airstrike in the villages of al-Shifouniah and al-Aftaris injured several civilians. Also, the bombing of Ain Tarma and Harasta caused material damage.

Activists said that two civilians were killed from an airstrike on the village of Misraba, and a similar attack on Douma killed a young girl.

From Sunday to this morning, the loyalist forces intensively bombed Eastern Ghouta. Continous bombing makes the number of civilian casualities, as well as deaths caused through critical injuries, more likely to increase.

Two days earlier, the Syrian Network of Human Rights documented that the loyalist forces and Russia have committed 40 massacres in Eastern Ghouta, killing 729 civilians since Nov. 14.

The Free Syrian Army factions and Islamic battalions denied any negotiations with the loyalist forces (or any other party) concerning a truce, as well as any reconciliation agreement in Eastern Ghouta. This occurred as the loyalist media broadcasted news of the loyalist forces' remobilization to storm several areas of Ghouta.
