Idlib - SMART

On Wednesday, the Syrian Liberation Front, which is newly formed with the participation of the Suqur al-Sham Legion, gained control of a town and several villages that were under the control of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) in Southern Idlib, Northern Syria.

Local activists said that the Syrian Islamic Liberation Front and Suqour al-Sham Brigades gained control of the town of Arihah and parts of the village of Marayan in Jabal al-Zawiya area, after clashes with HTS.

The activists added that the Syrian Islamic Liberation Front also gained control of the villages of Tarmala and Al Rami in Jabal al-Zawiyah area, as clashes between the two parties take place in Maarat al-Nouman, with no knowledge of casualties.

On Tuesday, six civilians were injured in clashes between the Syrian Islamic Liberation Front and HTS in Western Aleppo, Northern Syria.

The Syrian Liberation Front was formed days earlier from the coalition between the Ahrar al-Sham Islamic Movement and the Nour al-Din al-Zenki Movement.

The relationship between the factions has been tense for months, as HTS earlier attacked the two factions and killed a number of their fighters, gaining control of their territories, especially in Idlib.
