Al-Hasakah - SMART

Forty-five Russian and French of the Islamic State members’ families arrived at the town of Al-Hul in Southern al-Hasakah, Northeast Syria.

The camp director, Slava Sheikho said that the families included 145 people who arrived at the camp on Sunday. They were coming from the town of Abu Khashab passageway in Deir Ez-Zor city, accompanied by 13 Iraqi families (55 individuals) and 19 Syrian families (107 individuals).

The camp includes Iraqi and Syrian families and other members of the Islamic State who fled from areas of shelling and clashes between the Kurdish People’s Protection Units and ISIS in Eastern Syria.

Refugees and displaced people of the camp suffer from difficult humanitarian conditions, due to the lake of adequate services and weak humanitarian assistance provided by the organizations.
