Loyalist Forces gain control of factory in Eastern Ghouta

On Wednesday, a spokesman for Jaysh al-Islam said that loyalist forces gained control of the Sifco drug factory after its destruction in the town of Hawash al-Dahahra in Eastern Ghouta in the Syrian capital, Damascus.

Hamza Berkdar, a spokesman for Army of Islam, said through his account on Telegram that the factory was at an advanced zone and the Jaysh al-Islam were forced to get out of it and stay in the rear lines.

He also pointed to the ongoing fighting, which he described it as “violent” at Hawash Al-Dahahra since the night.

He added that the ongoing battles led to significant losses of the loyalist forces and its supporting militias. By using various types of prohibited internationally weapons in an attempt to storm the town of Hawas Al-Dhahra.

The bombing comes despite the adoption by the UN Security Council resolution 2401 on a 30-day truce in Syria, in addition to the validity of a daily ceasefire declared by Russia in Eastern Ghouta, which was violated by the loyalist forces, amid repeated attempts to break into the area from several points. Army of Islam said that it had killed dozens of the loyalist forces’ members during the truce.
