Rif Dimashq, SMART

On Saturday night and Sunday morning, suspected Russian warplanes bombed the cities of Duma and Misraba in Eastern Damascus, killing and injuring civilians. The bombings occurred despite the United Nations Security Council Resolution 2401, which demands a 30-day ceasefire in all of Syria.

The Civil Defense reported that nine airstrikes and ten barrel bombs burnt a family to death and injured civilians in Misraba. Activists suspected the airstrikes to be Russian.

Loyalist forces bombed Misraba using 24 BM-21 Grad rockets, injuring civilians. The Civil Defense transported the injured to nearby medical clinics.

Activists reported that suspected Russian airstrikes on residential neighborhoods in Duma, 14 kilometers east of Damascus, killed three civilians.

The Hmeimim Russian air base admitted on their Facebook page that Russian air launchers bombed Eastern Ghouta.

On Saturday, Russian and loyalist airstrikes and loyalist artillery shelling killed 15 civilians and injured others in Ghouta.

On Feb. 24, 2018, the UN Security Council approved Resolution 2401, which includes a 30-day ceasefire in Syria, the lifting of the Syrian government's siege on Ghouta, and allowing humanitarian aid into Ghouta while evacuating injured civilians.
