Suspected Russian airstrikes kill and injure civilians in Idlib

On Sunday, suspected Russian warplanes bombed the cities of Idlib and Binnish, and the village of Kafr Sajna in Idlib governorate, Northern Syria, killing three civilians, including a woman, and injuring others.

A local source reported to SMART that Russian warplanes bombed Kafr Sajna, 45 kilometers south of Idlib, killing three civilians, including a woman, and injuring others, including children. The Civil Defense transported the injured to nearby medical clinics.

Amer al-Hamdou, a Civil Defense volunteer in Idlib, reported to SMART that Russian warplanes bombed residential neighborhoods in the city, injuring six civilians with varying degrees of severity. The bombing also caused material damage to the Central Bank and bus station, according to activists.  

Russian warplanes bombed residential neighborhoods of the city of Binnish, 7 kilometers north of Idlib, eight times, severely injuring an elderly woman and a man. The Civil Defense transported the injured to a field hospital in the area.

On Saturday, suspected loyalist warplanes bombed the village of Kafr Sajna in Southern Idlib, killing eight civilians, including two women and a child, and injuring seven civilians. Another airstrike killed a woman in the village of Madaya.

Russian backed-loyalist forces have been bombing Idlib in the recent days, killing and injuring hundreds of civilians and destroying hospitals and medical clinics.
