Idlib, SMART

On Monday, suspected loyalist warplanes bombed the two cities of Idlib and Taftanaz, Northern Syria, killing and injuring 28 civilians. The airstrikes coincided with similar ones on other towns in the area.

Local activists reported that intensified loyalist airstrikes hit residential neighborhoods in Taftanaz in the Idlib countryside, killing three civilians including a child, and injuring 13 civilians including three women.

The expected number of casualties is due to be large, as activists stated that the Civil Defense is still rescuing injured civilians. The activists added that they suspect death toll to further increase as a result of major wounds, which include amputations and head injuries. The Civil Defense transferred some of the injured to Turkish hospitals due to major injuries.

Loyalist airstrikes hit the al-Hal Market, al-Mihrab roundabout, and al-Mutanabbi roundabout in the city of Idlib, injuring 12 civilians including four with major injuries.

Loyalist airstrikes also hit the popular market of Idlib and residential neighborhoods of Binnish, Ta’oum, and Maarrat Misrin. The bombings damaged public properties and caused panic among civilians.

On Sunday, suspected Russian warplanes bombed the two cities of Idlib and Binnish and the village of Kafr Sajna, killing four civilians, including two women and injuring others, including women and children. Russian backed-loyalist forces have been bombing Idlib, killing and injuring hundreds of civilians and destroying hospitals and medical clinics.
