Jaysh al-Islam agrees to evacuate wounded from Eastern Ghouta, Damascus

On Monday, Jaiysh al-Islam announced that they reached an agreement with Russia to evacuate the wounded people in batches from Eastern Ghoutato the capital of Damascus for treatment.

 Jaiysh al-Islam reported to SMART that they reached an agreement with Russia through the United Nations and the UN “2254” and “2401” resolutions, due to the conditions of war, the siege on Ghouta and the prevention of the introduction of medical drugs, in addition to the targeting of hospitals and medical zones for six years.

SMART communicates with Jaiysh al-Islam to find out how many wounded are there, whether they are civilians or fighters, where they will be treated, and whether they will return to Eastern Ghouta after their treatment.

 Jaiysh al-Islam stated that all the rumors that promoted about another agreement are “in the context of psychological warfare.” and they will continue fighting against the brutal aggression triune in reference to the forces of the regime, Russia, and Iran.

This statement comes after Hmeimim Air Base announced earlier today, which the Russian held a meeting with the Jaiysh al-Islam, which is mediated by the United Nations to agree on the exit of the second batch of their militants from Eastern Ghouta.Meanwhile, Jaiysh al-Islam denied any evacuation of its fighters outside Ghouta and said that the first batch that taken out of al Ghouta were elements of al-Nasra Front, currently called (Hayat Tahrir al-Sham).

On Mid-Feb. 2018, the loyalist forces and its loyal militias with the Russian air support launched a military campaign in the eastern towns of Eastern Ghouta. The bombing caused the killing and injuring of hundreds of civilians, in addition to the destruction of infrastructure and hospitals despite the UN Security Council Resolution 2401, which was announced on Feb. 24, 2018, and includes a 30-day ceasefire in Syria, the lifting of the Syrian government's siege on Ghouta, and allowing humanitarian aid into Ghouta while evacuating injured civilians.
