Free Syrian Army and Kurdish People's Protection Units clash near Afrin, killing fighters on both sides

On Tuesday evening, the Free Syrian Army (FSA) clashed with the Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG) near the village of Bsalhaya, Southern Afrin, Aleppo, Northern Syria. The clashes led to the killing of on FSA fighter and an unknown number of YPG fighters.

A military source reported to SMART that the YPG attempted to sneak into the village of Bsalhaya, which the FSA gained control of recently. The YPG clashed with the FSA, killing an FSA fighter and injuring three others. YPG fighters were killed and injured, and another fighter was captured.   

On Tuseday, the FSA gained control of nine villages and a military camp in the Afrin area after clashes with the YPG.

The FSA factions continue to advance in several parts of the Afrin area, and have gained control of the major areas of Jindayris, Sharan, Bulbul, Sheikh al-Hadid, and al-Khaldiyah. The FSA has also gained total control of the borderline area between Afrin and Turkey.
