Free Syrian Army and Islamist battalions launch “Anger For Ghouta” battle in Hama rural

On Wednesday, ten factions of the Free Syrian Army and Islamist Brigades announced the launch of a new battle against the loyalist forces in the northern and western Hama villages in Central Syria, under the name of “Anger For Ghouta”

Within a statement on its Telegram account and newly created channel, the factions stated that they aim to control loyalist forces sites as an act ofin solidarity with Eastern Ghouta, Damascus.

The ten factions of Jaysh al-Izza, Jaysh al-Ahrar, the Syrian Liberation Front, the FIS, the First Infantry Division, the 111 group, the Jaysh al-Shaab, in addition to the gathering of the people of Syria and the brigade of the martyrs of Tremesse, all participated in the new battle.

This coincides with mutual bombing between loyalist forces and factions operating in the area, where loyalist forces bombed the cities and towns of al-Latamna, Kafr Zita. The Free Syrian Army (FSA) fighters shelled loyalist forces’ positions at the strategic Hamamiyat checkpoint near the town of al-Sakilibiya.

The areas beyond the control of the Syrian government in the Hama rural are subjected to the Syrian government and Russia’s artillery, missile and aerial attacks repeatedly, often killing and injuring civilians as well as causing extensive damage to infrastructure in the region.
