Rif Dimashq governorate - SMART

On Wednesday, suspected Syrian loyalist warplanes launched ten raids in less than three hours on the besieged city of Kafr Batna in Eastern Ghouta, killing and wounding civilians.

The Civil Defense wrote on its Facebook page that ten raids killed four civilians, including two children, and injured others in residential neighborhoods of the city of Kafr Batna. The warplanes launched eight raids at dawn followed by renewed shelling of two areas.

Loyalist forces also shelled residential neighborhoods in the city of Irbin (9 kilometers east of Damascus), using explosive barrels and rockets, killing two civilians.

Local activists reported that Russian airstrikes with cluster rockets killed a civilian and wounded others in the town of Haza.

The Civil Defense added that warplanes launched three raids on residential neighborhoods in the town of Jisreen.

On Tuesday, dozens of civilians were killed and wounded as part of a military campaign and daily escalation on cities and towns of besieged Eastern Ghouta by loyalist forces and Russia.

These developments come although the Security Council adopted Resolution 2401 on Feb. 24 calling a 30-day truce in Syria, two days before Russia's announcement of a truce for five hours a day.
