Olive Branch factions gain control over town and four villages in Afrin

The Free Syrian Army, along with the Turkish forces, gained control over a town, three villages and surrounding hills in Afrin, Northern Syria (43 kilometers northwest of Aleppo). They gained control over the villages after clashes with the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG).

The FSA faction of the Olive Branch Operation proclaimed gaining control over the town of al-Ghazawya and the villages of al-Nira, Kazyia and Shader, along with hills near Jenderis (21 kilometers south of Afrin), without mentioning the casualties or the material losses of both parties.

The FSA factions also proclaimed gaining control over the village of al-Yabsa, Bulbol, without mentioning the losses.

On Tuesday, the FSA factions announced gaining control over 11 new villages in Afrin and killing several YPG fighters.

The FSA factions have been advancing from several axis in Afrin under a military operation during which they gained control over the borderline with Turkey and five towns. The towns are Bulbol, Rajo, al-Sheikh Hadid, Sharan and Jenderis.
