On Thursday, the Syrian government hit a site close to the international delegation accompanying the humanitarian aid convoy, injuring a civilian in the city of Douma in besieged Eastern Ghouta, Damascus.

Local activists reported that civilians were wounded by the loyalist forces’ artillery shelling, only some meters from the whereabouts of a delegation of the United Nations and the Red Cross. Activists pointed out to the documenting of injury to two children.

The local council in Douma reported that artillery bombing hit the city during a meeting with the international delegation accompanying the aid convoy.

This coincides with the shelling using various arsenal in different parts of Eastern Ghouta, as well as renewed shelling of residential neighborhoods in the city of Kafr Batna.

The loyalist forces have bombed the city of Douma twice since a humanitarian aid convoy was first deployed a few days ago. Activists said the shelling targeted sites that are only 200 meters away from the whereabouts of the delegation. The UN official reported that this came despite Russian assurances to cease the shelling.
