Rif Dimashq - SMART

On Thursday, local sources reported to SMART that the loyalist forces and its supporting militia, advanced in the eastern town of Hammouriya on the besieged Eastern Ghouta in the capital Damascus, and gave residents one hour to evacuate.

The sources pointed out that loyalist forces gained control of all the eastern neighborhoods of Hammouriya, and gave the families one hour to evacuate their basements shelters, and go to the site where a bus convoy twould carry them to the city of Adra.

The sources added that a number of families began to exit through a crossing specified by the loyalist forces. At the same time, the sources added that a large number of victims' bodies were spread accross the streets of Hammouriya.

The channel, Russia Today, reported that loyalist forces opened a new crossing civilians to exit from, passing from the town of Hammouriya.

Syrian activists have been circulating these past hours, giving a messafe from a doctor in Hammouriya that, 5000 families still remain in the town who are threatened with extermination because of the advancing loyalist forces in several quarters, as well as intensive shelling on residential neighborhoods using all types of arsenal.

The doctor added in his letter that “The wounded civilians on the roads cannot be transferred; the movement is aimed at dozens of families trying to flee under the shelling. We do not know its fate. Many injuries fill the roads and no one can help them.” He pointed to a total disruption of communication in Hammouriya.

Hundreds of civilians have been killed and injured in the last few days as a result of the Syrian government and Russia’s bombing of the eastern cities and towns of Eastern Ghouta by various arsenal, including chlorine, poisonous gas, despite the adoption of the UN Security Council's Resolution 2401, which was issued on Feb. 24, of 2401 demanding a 30-days truce in Syria.
