Free Syrian Army gains control of 11 villages in Afrin Area

On Thursday, the Free Syrian Army( FSA) gained control of eleven villages and two outposts in the Afrin Area, Northern Aleppo, Northern Syria, following clashes with the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG).

The FSA factions of the Olive Branch Operation said in separate statements that their fighters gained control of Jarou, Baraka, Jomazanli, and Hamou Rajo villages in Nahiyat al-Sheik Hadeed, west of Afrin.

The factions also gained control of Qoutan, Barkashli, Jolaqi, Qurzali, and al- Mahabia vilages in Nahiyat Bulbul north of Afrin, as well as al-Zarqa and Ghalor villages, and Barkash mountain and Hill 1102 in Nahiyat Adamanli.

On Wednesday, the FSA and Turkish Army gained control of a town and eight villages and hills in the Afrin Area; essentially the road opening access to Daret Azza city in Western Aleppo.

FSA factions advance from different directions of the Afrin area as part of a military operation, during which factions have gained control of Afrin’s entire border with Turkey. The factions have also gained control of five Nahiyats,: Bulbul, Rajo, al-Sheikh Hadeed, Sharan, and Jandayris.
