Intensified Russian and loyalist airstrikes kill 21 civilians in Zamalka, Eastern Ghouta

Intensified Russian and loyalist bombings killed 21 civilians in the city of Zamalka in Eastern Ghouta.

On Friday, the Civil Defense said on Facebook that the death toll has increased to 21 due to 16 airstrikes, 18 barrel bombs, and 60 missiles and rockets that fell on residential neighborhoods in Zamalka.

The Civil Defense added that the bombings included two rockets of cluster bombs and another of napalm.

The Civil Defense pointed out that the bombings also injured 70 civilians, including women and children. The Civil Defense noted that they killed civilians, including ten who fled Eastern Ghouta to Zamalka.

Local activists reported that the total death toll of the Russian and loyalist bombings on Ghouta and the Joubar neighborhood, east of Damascus, increased to 61 civilians including women, children and injured, who later died from injuries of a previous bombing.  

Dozens of families left the town of Hammouriya through a crossing that loyalist forces opened after they advanced in the eastern neighbourhoods of the town. Loyalist forces gave a one hour time limit for civilians in other parts of the town to leave their basements and shelters.
