Turkey - SMART

The head of the local council of Zamalka, Eastern Ghouta, said that aerial bombing targeted the area, killing more than 30 civilians and injuring dozens in a primary toll.

The Head of the local council, Yousef al-Ghosh, said in a statement on Facebook that the warplanes targeted a basement full of civilians. The bombing killed more than 30 and injured others, most of them women and children.

SMART is trying to contact activists, local officials and doctors in besieged Eastern Ghouta. So far, they have not received a response due to poor communication, even between the towns of Eastern Ghouta.

Fayez Arabi, the spokesman for the Rif Dimashq Health Directorate based in Ghouta, said that “There are no means of communication. Unfortunately, it is hard to know details [..] but there is a massacre in every place.”

Aerial bombing with napalm targeted Kafr Batna, rising the death toll to 61, in addition to dozens of injuries.

The government forces and Russia have launched an intense aerial bombing campaign in the past three weeks. The bombing killed and injured thousands of civilians. They used internationally prohibited weapons, such as cluster bombs, napalm and poisonous chlorine gas.
