Loyalist forces bomb neighborhoods south of Damascus amid clashes with Islamic State
Turkey - SMART
On Saturday, government warplanes and helicopters bombed the neighborhood of al-Hajar al-Aswad and the Yarmouk camp south of Damascus, coinciding with clashes with the Islamic State (ISIS) in the nearby neighborhood of al-Qadam.
Local activists reported that the government warplanes launched two raids on al-Hajar al-Aswad, and helicopters threw explosive barrels on the Yarmouk camp.
The bombing coincided with clashes between ISIS and loyalist forces in the al-Qadam neighborhood. ISIS announced through its media that they killed 11 members of the loyalist forces, destroyed two tanks, a BMB vehicle, and seized a heavy machine gun.
A few days ago, ISIS attacked the neighborhood of al-Qadam and gained control of its landmarks. These developments came after loyalist forces entered the neighborhood and the military factions left it according to an agreement between the both sides.
